The Artist

Courtney Smith is a printmaker based in Marysville, California, creating hand-carved relief prints inspired by her adventures, pastoral life, and imagined worlds. Working primarily in linocut, her images draw from quiet landscapes and a sense of wandering, brought to life through rhythmic textures and the interplay of light and dark.

She began printmaking in 2014 and received a BFA in Fine Arts from Kennesaw State University in Georgia in 2016. After a decade of meandering adventures across the United States, she now explores life in a new way through parenthood and running her small business, Ramblin' Toad Press.

Her work can be found at local farmers markets and galleries. When not carving blocks, she's likely chasing her toddler around or tending to her two dogs, elderly cat, and herd of sheep.
